Music has always been a huge part of Janet’s life. At the first opportunity just out of high school, she traveled with an entertainment group performing in 46 states and 27 countries. She then got her bachelors degree and teaching credential in music from San Diego State University. Her love of performing and musical abilities have brought her many wide experiences in many genres of music including a renaissance group, radio jingles, studio recording work, and years of live performing with many different kinds of bands in clubs and for private events. She has opened concerts for The Pointer Sisters, The Drifters, The Platters, and Johnny Cash and has worked with musicians from groups such as, The Righteous Brothers, Little Anthony, Maynard Ferguson, Natalie Cole, The Cheiftans, and The Guess Who. She also developed and runs a Christmas Caroling company called The Full Measure Carolers which now books an average of 300 gigs during the holiday season. In addition to performing, she has a full teaching load between private students, Palomar College (several classes and a vocal jazz ensemble), and a youth choir at the Braille Institute. She is also Music Director of the Unity Center in San Diego. Janet’s several CD recordings include two holiday recordings, an original jazz fusion CD called “Life Stories”, “From the Soul” and “One God, Many Voices” which are spiritually uplifting songs, and a jazz standards CD called “Never Let Me Go”.
