简介
Peter Estberg was born June 19th 1951 in the southern parts of Sweden known as Älmhult. A place that later became known for the world famous furniture store IKEA. In Älmhult, Peter learned to play guitar at the age of 10, inspired by an older friend who was in a pop band. After completing high school Peter and his family moved to Älghult, and for a few years he played there in a pop band called "Fresh Air". There was another pop band in Älghult, "The Lilacs", which competed for the local young people's attention. This was in the end of the sixties, when there were at least one pop band in every little town in Sweden. The family moved on to Vetlanda in 1969. There, Peter began recording his own songs on a Revox A77 tape recorder. In 1970 Peter got in touch with several record companies including CBS and Polar, but this lead to no record deal. During his studies in Växjö 1971-1976, Peter composed lots of music, some of which were played in the radio show "Bandet går." Shortly after graduating in computer programming in 1976, Peter and his girl friend and their 6 months old son Nicklas moved to Stockholm, where they lived for 3 years. Since 1979 Peter lives and works in Vetlanda, where he has had another son, Staffan. While the children grew up, less time were spent on composing and creating music. In 2001 Peter retook his music production interest and started recording songs through a small PC based home studio. Favorite guitars are a Martin D28 and a Fender Stratocaster. There is also a dream of learning to handle a recently obtained steel-guitar, learn to play blues harmonica, be decent on bluegrass-banjo, and get better at the keyboard... Peter's music is mostly of of singer-songwriter character, inspired by such artists as the Beatles, Cat Stevens, Hoola Bandoola Band, Joni Mitchell and others. The ambition has always been to create new original, experimental music with interesting harmonies and rhythms.
