简介
DulceSky captures the fleeting feeling of waking from a dream and finding yourself caught in that hazy state of mind between consciousness and slumber: You're not sure if the swirling sounds in your head are real or imagined, and you don't care, because they're familiar, inviting, and sumptuous. They remind you of an updated hybrid of underground British trench coat pop and the massive, cascading guitar washes of shoegaze bands past. Whatever the influences, they sound like now. ********** I took a liking to this EP straight away. The Salt Lake City four propagate a moody mystery that feels like you're in the Rockies just east of that city, watching the snow melt in the I-80 pass. Between the dark and chilling but lovely guitars and the somber piano, they have me thinking The Church with a speck of Whipping Boy, although the main hook of "Media Luna" AKA "Half Moon" is reminiscent of Catherine Wheel's great Ferment smoker, "Swallow". Mastermind/singer/producer Oliver Valenzuela throws in vocals everybit as gliding and hypnotic as this floating music, giving the feel of the "Friend in Space" of song number two. Bring on the LP Lands-you can bet there's plenty more of this cold majesty in that mountain air. Hope they include "Half-Moon" on it; it's a total far-away guitar winner!
