Donny Yardas had the streets buzzing in 2006 with his hit single Bullet featuring Mr. Easy, Noah wid di Powah & Ricky Blaze on the Wipe Out Riddim. A certified club banger with a grassroots buzz that started in the streets of Brooklyn, New York....The Streets had spoken thus earning the single spins on Hot 97 and Power 105 the two top stations for Hip Hop & RnB in the New York Tri-State area. The Streets are buzzing once again as Donny is slated to release his self titled debut album this fall. In a competitive music industry filled with redundant recording artists singing the same old tune, versatility is the key to longevity. Whether it’s controversial social commentary, vicious battle rhymes, or romantic pillow talk for all the ladies, Donny thrills and amazes. “People don’t get up everyday thinking about the same things, so I don’t talk about the same things over and over again in my songs,” says the native of Manchester, excuse me I mean Galchester, Jamaica. Donny’s love affair with reggae music began when him eye deh a him knee. He spun records from his father’s sound system, Senior Soul, before realizing that it was his destiny to wreck microphones for a living. Although influenced by dancehall greats such as General Echo, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man and Capleton, Donny has learned to formulate a unique style all his own. In 2001 he recorded with Article One productions out of Flatbush, Brooklyn under the name “Vengeance.” This was a great learning experience for the young artist as he recorded and performed alongside Brooklyn Legend Screechie Dan one of the founding members of the Ruff Entry crew, the same crew that launched the career of reggae super star Shaggy. The following year Donny decided to enroll himself into The Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) where he majored in Computer Information Systems. He joined the Caribbean Students Association and toured the east coast’s college circuit, performing before packed college campuses. The experience was a great one, as it allowed him to sharpen his lyrical skills. However, Donny reached the turning point in his career when a friend introduced him to another BMCC student by the name of André Lloyd, a talented producer straight from JamRock. Donny and Dre’s chance meeting evolved into a business partnership. The two launched BG-Yardas Media, A multi-media entertainment company encompassing Beatz Galore Productions (Music Production), Yardas.net (Marketing & Promotion), Generation X Television (TV Program) and BG Yardas Records
