This is a band that can deliver. The single they sent us ahead of this full album release was awesome and the other tracks don't ruin things at all. Evolution in the Wrong Direction is a storming dash through twelve blistering tracks that see rock joining punk revival in a flurry of melodic guitars and slurred vocals. If you ran it through a computer, you wouldn't find a single mistake on this record. The correct notes are all where they ought to be and the precision with which they deliver these songs is stunning. Of course, music isn't mechanical - there's an art and emotion to it and they supply plenty of both here, musically and lyrically. I can't go into individual tracks here, as I have no track listing and I don't want to refer to songs as track numbers, but there are plenty of corkers on here including 'A Look Over' and 'Running For Their Lives Again', which both appeared on the single and the title track 'Evolution in the Wrong Direction'. I'm a big fan of the final track, in which they add a new backing-vocal into the mix that really spices the song up. It's a cracking song too, especially given the fact that it's been left until the very end - a very strong finish indeed! From Plan To Progress are the strongest possible band of their type.
