A true Ethiopian legend, Alemayehu Eshete has toured all over the world, and was one of the first to record music to vinyl in Ethiopia. Alemayehu often described as the ‘Ethiopian James Brown’ or the ‘Ethiopian Elvis’ for his music style as well as electrifying stage performances. In 1984 he won a Tchaikovsky composition award at the International Music Festival in Dresden, Germany. AIT Records considers it a great pleasure to present his most recent recording – a snapshot of the greatest work from his vast repertoire. All of the music on this album has been masterfully produced and rearranged by Ethiopia’s leading producer and musician, Abegasu Kibrework Shiota.
