Randy Clay - Guitarist, Singer/Songwriter, Composer, Recording Artist, Teacher Randy has been playing since the tender age of 6. First, playing with family based band, The Spades in the 1960's. During this time he co wrote, sang and drumed on the songs, "When I Get To Going" and "I'm So Happy", whitch were recorded at Arthur Smith Studios in Charlotte, NC. Drum rhythms were not enough for Randy, so at age 8 he began learning to play the guitar which added a more melodic element to his music. His influences were accross the board in styles, making him a very versatile player. Later in the 70's he got his degree in music from the University Of North Carolina Charlotte. Randy has performed and recorded professionally, both locally and nationally with Rock, Jazz, R&B, Country and Beach bands through the 90's. Most notably, Bits And Pieces, Savannah Jack, The Steppe Brothers, City Kids, Station To Station, The Fantastic Shakers, The Breeze Band and Billy Scott and many more. In recent years he is refining his songwriting skills even more, playing studio sessions, performing solo and with family band The Real Clays.
