Sweden has been the heavyweight champion of music production for decades and shows no sign of giving up it’s reigning position just yet. Electro-indie duo ELD have stepped up as Sweden’s latest title defenders. The band have burst onto the music scene armed with an artillery of singles that will release this summer, in a bid to keep that title belt at home! ELD are an indie band with one foot planted firmly in electronica and the other in the melancholic nostalgia of the 70’s and 80’s. It’s a refreshing yet familiar formula, and just like Joy Division or New Order who paved the path before them, they have hit on a euphoric ingredient that proves irresistible. Although a new act with a new manifesto, there is over 30 years experience between the band’s members Niels Nanker and London Ronneklev. Having met 15 years ago while working with hit Swedish act Timo Räisänan, both London and Niels have gone on to work together on several success stories (Me And My Army, Roenik) and a ton of collaborations (Yoad Nevo, Andreas Kleerup, Weaver). The duo have recently built their thriving production hive “Studio Lyckholmia”, in the heart of Gothenburg. This studio currently has some of the city’s freshest new acts going in and out of it’s doors, and the roster keeps growing. In fact, collaboration is a major part of ELD’s fabric. All of the upcoming singles feature cameos by some of Sweden’s hottest talents, old and new. The first single to launch in spring is “Everything That’s New” which features the electronic pioneer Robert Leiner. ELD plan on keeping the pace and keeping your attention with at least 3 singles to follow in the wake of their first. And like their name, the ancient Nordic word for fire, ELD want to cause a reaction that will change the game.
