简介
SMP AKA Sounds of Mass Production is Jason Bazinet. SMP live is Jason Bazinet (Vocals, Aux. Drums), Paul Furio from Static Engine (Keyboards), Charlie Lorme (Drums), and Chris Roy of Doll Factory (Guitar/ Aux. Drums). SMP's music has been described as cyber-punk, a blend of industrial-dance and rap-rock. It's danceable, aggressive, diverse and complex. Those who appreciate RATM, Prodigy, KMFDM, Chem Lab, PM5K, Meat Beat Manifesto, 16 Volt and Ministry will find SMP has something impressive to offer. On February 19th Invisible Records will be releasing new SMP remix CD, Hacked, and the companion CD, Terminal will follow shortly after. Terminal will be a re-release of the 2000 SMP CD on the ADSR label. The re-release of Terminal will be retrofitted with choice cuts from SMP's Ultimatum CD and upgraded with a few new bomb tracks. Terminal will also feature some rarities and will contain a Pentium chip that will turn your computer into a virtual wet-bar & brothel. Hacked is the much anticipated remix CD of the favorite tracks from Terminal and Ultimatum. Artists such as Stromkern, Vers, Thine Eyes, Gasr, Spinefolder, New Mind, Idiot Stare, Mindless Faith, Doll Factory and several others lent their production skills to the project. With source code provided by SMP and reprogramming by the aforementioned line-up, you better hold on to your laptop, punk! SMP's previous three releases, Terminal (ADSR version, 2000), Ultimatum (ADSR/Catastrophe Records, 1998) and Stalemate (Cargo/Re-Constriction Records, 1995) brought SMP to a broad audience with 5 national tours, and extensive support from the press, including Outburn Magazine, Sideline Magazine, CMJ Magazine, The Seattle Times and Alternative Press. Both CDs were in heavy rotation with the country's club and radio DJs, and the band enjoyed a spot on CMJ's RPM charts for several months. SMP's music has been featured on MTV's Road Rules & various extreme sports videos. SMP's live show sets them far apart from their contemporaries and has impressed thousands of fans across the nation. Furious drumming, grinders throwing out sparks, and raw punk rap vocals flow over thumping bass lines and some funky boom-bap beats. Think Blade Runner meets hip-hop performed punk rock style. SMP live is Jason Bazinet (Vocals, Aux. Drums), Paul Furio from Static Engine (Keyboards), Charlie Lorme (Drums), and Chris Roy of Doll Factory (Guitar/ Aux. Drums). SMP was founded in 1992 by Bazinet and Sean Ivy and the pair wrote and released Stalemate in 1995. In 1997 Ivy took a brief hiatus from the band and SMP's 2nd CD, Ultimatum was written and produced almost exclusively by Bazinet. The re-release of Terminal and the debut of Hacked will exclusively feature material by Bazinet.
