简介
Tim Bowen and the Crystal Ball Breakers CD, "Variety", is the solo debut from Philadelphia painter/musician/songwriter Tim Bowen, who, as a founding member and principle songwriter of The Boneheads, helped establish the first wave of Philly garage/punk/surf music at the legendary Hot Club. As the title suggests, "Variety" is an eclectic blend of musical styles, approaches and arrangements. With the help of some of Philadelphia's finest players (see below), Bowen has crafted a record that defies classification, but could be described as California breeze meets Nashville twang with a twist of Liverpool pop. "Variety" consists of 14 original songs that run the gamut from pop to country to horn-driven rock, acoustic folk and everything in between. * Tim Bowen- Vocals, guitars, bass, harmonica * Produced by drummer George Manney, whose credits include- Rolling Hayseeds; Last Minute Jam vols. 1 and 2; Clutch Cargo "Wide Open". Dobbs. * Rocco Notte, keyboards- Member of Arista recording artists, The A's, and co-author of top 40 hits "A Woman's Got the Power" and "After Last Night". * Other musicians include- Michael Radcliffe, bass; Lou Fuiano, tenor sax; Dave Champion, trombone; Ernie Trionfo, pedal steel, banjo; Su Teears, background vocals. * Bowen is also an established painter with work in the collections of Forbes, Aramark Food Service, Will's Eye Hospital and many private collections.
