简介

The 'Koala Blues' EP has been created to bring attention to environmental issues and the plight of some of our iconic Australian wildlife like the Koala, Dingo and Bilby. The hope is that people will listen to the message and we can help protect the wildlife for future generations. The EP contains the following tracks: 1. Song for the Koala - played at the National Koala Conference 2017 2. It's Hard to be a Dingo - (received Highly Commended at the 2015 Queensland Music Awards) 3. The Crocodile Hunter – an up tempo bush song inspired by Bob Irwin's book 4. Once in a Bilby Moon – written to help the Bilby Organisation and the plight of the bilby 5. Don't Wait until Tomorrow – a ballad about Global Warming We believe this is a great way to let people know about the plight of these animals and give the wildlife a voice ! A bit about the songwriter, Dave became an Environmental acoustic singer/songwriter in 2014 after founding the Mango Hill & North Lakes Environmental Group and has been heavily involved in the fight for the local wildlife and environment around Australia. His first song, 'Song for the Koala' actually started life as a poem about a koala he saw sitting in a tree looking over some land that had recently been cleared for housing. A friend then asked him to write a song for the Jane Goodall Institute's Day of Action for the Dingo, so he wrote 'It's Hard to be a Dingo' which received Highly Commended at the 2015 Queensland Music Awards and also received a personal letter of thanks from Jane herself. Since then he has gone on to write more songs and has played at many venues and recorded a song he wrote for the ANZAC centenary called 'The Silent ANZAC' with legendary Aussie guitarist Phil Emmanuel, brother of the globally renowned Tommy Emmanuel. The EP was sponsored by Jacqueline Schindler, President of the ZKS Foundation after she came across an earlier copy of 'Song for the Koala' on the web and features a great picture from Nambour artist Brian Tisdall. The EP was recorded at the Gavin Hamburger Studio in Noosa So that's where it's at ! Although we'd like to cover costs we're not really into making money out of it, but are more interested in spreading the word. We really believe that songs are a great way to get the message across to everyone. We're lucky to have such amazing wildlife in Australia, and we need to protect it !
