Her voice will move you on to a stunning platform. A must-see new act!\" - The Saint, Asbury Park, N.J. \"A soulful songbird… performing bluesy jazz tinged songs… a soulful musician who has a lot of heartfelt lyrics\" - Night & Day Entertainment Magazine \"She\'s one of the hardest working musicians in New Jersey and has been attracting the attention of music fans and club owners across the state..... I first saw Eryn Shewell at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park over a year ago and was blown away by her performance. It\'s hard to believe, but she says that was her first ever live performance of her originals. Since then, her songs have gotten better and her band is now comprised of amazingly talented musicians that bring her rock and roll / country tunes alive with a touch of jazz and blues flavoring.” - Upstage Magazine “Her songs are personal but also quite inviting as they beckon the listener in a breezy laid back manner. Attractive Melodies and catchy hooks lead you down an arabesque path and into a journey of aural color…… Highly recommended stuff from a great songwriter.” - The Aquarian – Shoreworld Asbury Park Music Award Nominations - 2007 The Eryn Shewell Band was been nominated for Top Female Vocalist Top Blues Band Top Americana Band Top Guitarist - Pat Ruh In venues such as the legendary Stone Pony, The Saint, The Cutting Room, Bluebird Café, Café Coco, Six Flags theme parks, as well as popular clubs throughout New Jersey, New York City, New Orleans and beyond, many crowds and hearts have been won over by the unique power and sweet sound of the young talented singer and songsmith, Eryn Shewell. Her unique sound is often compared to her musical influences: the bluesy sound of Susan Tedeschi; the sweet sensitivity of Jewel; the power of Martina McBride. Born in Washington, DC, Eryn moved to the New Jersey when she was eight. Inspired by her musical family (her parents and aunts all sing; her grandfather is a bluegrass musician), Eryn chose music as her career at an early age. She has always known she would work in the music industry. She has been singing publically since she was ten, wrote her first song at fourteen and hasn\'t stopped writing since. She taught herself guitar to help facilitate her songwriting and performing and even trained as a sound engineer so she could better understand some of the science behind the perfect sound. \"Music has always been my passion, my therapeutic outlet, I’m not just chasing fame - this is my career. I will always work in the music industry in some capacity,\" she says in her soft speaking voice that belies the power of her singing. Eryn began singing professionally at age 13 when she started a ten year run singing for country band Sundance. By age 16 she was also singing backup with Jody Joseph and the Average Joes. In 2005 she spent several months in New Orleans(NOLA) winning over audiences while singing with national touring band Soul Project. Eryn is sought out by other artists as a backup singer because of her natural ability to harmonize. While in NOLA she was honored to be asked to record vocals on a recently released album for blues veteran Walter \"Wolfman“ Washington. “I love working with other artists and experiencing their music, I have learned something from everyone I have had the pleasure to perform or write with. It’s not the same if I can’t share it anyway,” she says smiling as she quotes a line from one of her songs. Eryn embraces every opportunity to perform and enjoys working with other artists. In addition to her own band you can currently hear her fronting New Jersey cover bands Stronger Than Dirt and Under New Ownership. Eryn founded her own Eryn Shewell Band in 2007, a group that has grown to up to nine pieces that showcases her original compositions with a few of Eryn’s favorite cover songs thrown in for fun. Within the first year the band was nominated for three Asbury Park Music awards including best female vocalist. She has kept the band busy playing in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Nashville as well as recording her debut album. Eryn pours her heart and soul into her music and puts it all out on display for anybody who will listen. Her songs are personal yet easily accessible. Addicting melodies and catchy hooks draw you in to the experiences of her young life. Her blues-rock songs like \"Anymore\" are full of attitude, songs like \"Simple\" are comforting, while \"I Don’t Know\" and “One More Melody” reflect the doubt of her younger years and “I Want You for Breakfast” is just plain old naughty fun. Eryn\'s debut album, Window Pane, will be released August 31st. recorded and mixed at AARIUS Studios by two time Grammy Award winner Jake Tanner. Then Live at the Cutting Room, a live CD/DVD recorded in New York City on February 21, 2008, will be out later this year.
