简介
Right on time! This CD can easily be considered a musical commentary relevant to the current times. The message is upfront, but yet, doesn't overpower the smooth jazz influenced grooves. The music is given ample space to do its thing. It has its electronic leanings on the drum tracks and on the short cinematic segment 'Prime Target', but it comes to life on the solos. From the short requinto and bongo solo on the bridge of the biblical message 'Global Warning', to the powerful organ and conga solos on 'Before The Storm', a la Ray Barretto. The track 'Of Things To Come', doesn't only have a powerful social message, but is also complimented by a shining cajon solo on the bridge. You won't find a stringed bass on this recording. With the exception of 'Tomorrow', you will hear the marimbula pumping that bass rhythm. You thought it was an upright acoustic, right? The mute trumpet, xylophone, and the flute, add a touch of serenity throughout most of the cd. You may find yourself playing this recording while driving on one of those crowded interstate highways, or equally at home while laying on the couch. A Global Warning is a marriage of word and rhythm. The word speaks, and the rhythm lets you remember. For those who enjoy a good message, and for those who must have a rhythm, here is Of Word & Rhythm. Angel
