Lolita (first called Tokitae) was captured on August 8, 1970 in Penn Cove, Whidbey Island. She was one of seven young whales sold to marine parks around the world from this roundup of over 80 orcas. After her capture, she was eventually moved to Miami Seaquarium. The sole reason for her existence there has been and is to bring people in to the aging Marine Park for "entertainment" purposes. She survives perhaps on memories of her short time in the Salish Sea with her family. My song is a plea to those who keep her in a small tank for their own financial gain (and to all the remaining captive Orcas in Marine Parks around the world) for eventual release and retirement. It's time to bring Tokitae home. All proceeds of my song go to Orca Network.
