ROTI is the debut single by the Canadian-Punjabi music producer RUP. The lyrics were written by Balwinder Singh Mohie. RUP chose to have the legendary Punjabi singer, Ranjit Mani, deliver the vocals. Mani’s hard vocals cry the issues that the youth of Punjab face today; high unemployment rates, drug dealing and addiction, and the massive exodus of Punjabi youth to foreign lands in search of an income and ROTI. The hard hitting lyrics touch the hearts of a generation of Punjabi’s living abroad who left their families behind for a brighter future and a safer life. Music producer Rup, from Canada, provides the composition and musical arrangement for ROTI. The eclectic music is made up of a live band with a solid Hip Hop beat and powerful Punjabi vocals, giving it a true world music sound. The audio was mixed by Norie Kingsbury and then polished during the mastering process by the industry leading music house, Tigerstyle. ROTI-Deep Basswala Remix was done by Deep Basswala.
