In February 2014, Próxima Parada, of San Luis Obispo, CA, ran an Indiegogo campaign that garnered overwhelming support, allowing them the opportunity to record and release their debut album, “Songs of Music,” in September 2014.

Infused with rhythmic variety, lyrical depth, and a strong sense of musical integrity, this four-piece band cites Ray Charles, The Wood Brothers, Bill Withers, and The Band as influences. With two lead singers and multiple songwriters, they have found their niche blending soul, blues, jazz and folk into a style all their own. They create anything from unadorned acoustic that captures the atmosphere of a summer morning to floor-stomping, dance numbers with enough passion to attract any open ears. These boys sing about what matters to them: paying homage to a band member's infectiously positive mom who lost the fight with breast cancer or putting music to a poem that fell from grandma’s hands the day after her husband passed. Then throw in a song of pure joy, “Porch Stompin’.”
