My name is Boris Gardiner. I was born and bred in Kingston, Jamaica. I started singing from the age of 5. So I was told by an uncle. He told me I went to him one day and said, "Uncle Massa can I sing you a song?" I had a lisp back then. That was over 50 years ago, and I have been singing ever since. I started my career in 1960 with a singing group called The Rhythm Aces and we recorded a few songs, one of which was a hit called "A Thousand Teardrops". In 1968, I formed my own band called "The Boris Gardiner Happening". We recorded several Albums and toured many countries such as The Caribbean Islands, USA and Canada. In 1986, I recorded a song called "I wanna wake up with you", which was a megga hit for me world wide. Number 1 in UK, Australia, Portugal and made the top 10 in many countries over Europe and Canada.
