简介

A singer, songwriter, actor, and dancer, Frankee Razor’s true home is onstage. Born to a religious mother and father in Pittsburgh, PA., Frankee, the middle child of 3, performed in front of the church congregation every Sunday, regularly taking part in the church choir, church plays, or special church functions. God, family, and church were very important to young Frankee, which served as his moral compass growing into young adulthood. As a truly creative being, he was always odd man out, often wearing clothes that didn’t match or choosing to be indoors writing songs while other boys his age played basketball or video games. Often teased at school or around the neighborhood, church was the only place kid Frankee felt completely comfortable because the churchgoers embraced him, encouraged his art and never openly judged him for being different. It was through a church affiliation that he got his start on a professional Broadway stage, as a young teenager. It was then that his self-esteem increased, transitioning him from the weird little kid that everyone ridiculed to a respected entertainer. From there, Frankee Razor, then known as Justinn Waddell, went on to do other plays, dance performances, and commercials in New York, where he eventually attended Montclair State University enrolling in the coveted and widely sought after BFA Acting Program. New York provided the platform to catapult Frankee Razor from local fame to international notoriety, as preliminary auditions for American Idol were held in the big city. Invited by a school friend, Frankee woke up at 5:30am to wait in a line that circled the block for half a mile, the same line that would change his life forever. The audition process lasted 2 months before the show aired on national television and steadily, a nervous Frankee Razor pulled through each round. Once invited to Hollywood, he could feel that his life was beginning to change, as Randy, Simon and Paula agreed that Frankee Razor had intense star quality, and although he was eventually voted off, he was a finalist out of 50,000 hopefuls with a strong fan base and a bright future. It appeared Frankee’s dreams were finally coming true as doors began to fling open for this young singer and his image was widely recognized and praised for its unique and creative quality. Such highlights were appearing on US Weekly’s Most Notable Dressed List and being chosen to host MTV’s “Social History of Hair”, as his trademark blonde, waist length dreadlocks made him a perfect candidate to host a show about hair. Frankee Razor also had the pleasure of headlining a televised 2 week showcase at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand with other Idol Contestants. In addition, American Idol afforded Frankee the chance to come face to face with his biggest idols, most notably, Janet Jackson who danced with Frankee at an event in Hollywood, making mention of his outstanding dancing abilities. As the Frankee Razor brand gained notoriety, Frankee Razor the singer became the go-to-guy for promoters and talent bookers as the main Opening Act for some of the Biggest Names in Music, such as Kelly Clarkson, Faith Evans, Eric Benet, Neyo, Keyshia Cole and several others, as they knew he could excite an audience to their feet. Frankee Razor’s star was rising and his remarkable performance style and heartfelt lyrics caught the attention of The United States Navy, who invited Frankee Razor to headline their high school recruitment tour, using his song “Peace Love and Happiness” as the theme of their campaign. Life was good for Frankee Razor on his journey to the top but, as the saying goes “what goes up must come down.” Having traveled back and forth from New York to California for several years, Frankee Razor found it necessary to take up permanent residence in California, as he saw Los Angeles as the place for his career to soar. However, after migrating, life became a series of highs, lows, disappointments and difficulties that would soon test his commitment to his wife, whom he wed in 2008 and his overall desire to sing. Having successfully headlined several Hollywood Club tours, Frankee Razor decided to marry his childhood friend and high school prom date, of whom moved from New York to be his personal assistant. “Sex, drugs, and rock and roll” wasn’t just a cliché but rather a true caption to the tableau of Frankee Razor’s life at that moment, as it then revolved around the Hollywood fast life. Night after night, Frankee Razor and his new Hollywood Friends would be found drunk after performances, partying in VIP until the next morning. The little church boy image was fading fast as alcohol and depression had Frankee on a downward spiral. Although he was gigging regularly and the buzz surrounding his music was increasing, Frankee Razor was struggling internally, as he couldn’t escape the shadow of American Idol, and as seasons passed and new idols crowned, he saw his career at a standstill. Finding himself at an all time low, Frankee Razor finally snapped while hosting an event with Playboy Magazine. It was reported that he hurled into an embarrassing drunken rage, staggered onto the red carpet and tore down the step and repeat back drop, claiming to be disrespected, stating that he could not trust the team of people around him. It was an ugly site, earmarking the Frankee Razor dark years. However, it was the pivotal moment that would ignite the change he so desperately needed in order to see his dreams through to the end. Unable to handle the pressures of his career disappointment, unstable finances, and waning American Idol fame, Frankee Razor took a break from music and the entertainment scene to get sober and find new direction within his life and art, enrolling in a local college to study respiratory therapy. It was the life changing experience that he needed to get him back on track, as his life had spiraled out of control. He lost his wife, as she was tired of coming second to his music, he lost his townhouse for lack of financial stability, as well as his car, which was repossessed as he was attending a Red Carpet event in Downtown Los Angeles. For the first time in his life, Frankee found himself homeless and alone with no where to turn. No longer the celebrity on red carpets or the American Idol star in VIP, a now humbled Frankee Razor, the poor college student, took handouts and slept on couches. However, through God’s help, he persevered. The next couple of years Frankee Razor kept his head in his books, and he was often found sleeping in the school library or at a local Starbucks. He made studying his priority, a choice that would prove beneficial in the long run, as Frankee Razor graduated Valedictorian of his Respiratory Therapy Class, securing employment at a local pediatric hospital before ever graduating from college. The tides were changing for Frankee Razor and the scars of his past hardships were fading fast. After graduating from Concorde Career College, Frankee Razor went right to work. His outlook on life had definitely changed as he now spent his days focusing on the care of others, namely babies born with unhealthy lungs. This new line of work helped to rehabilitate Frankee’s mind as he remembered the fundamental importance of service to others. For the next couple of years he cultivated his respiratory therapy clinical skills with no specific plans of returning to music. However, as his passion for offering medical assistance and healing to sick patients grew, his passion for healing people through music emerged, and he longed for the stage. Frankee Razor soon began writing again, however, his subject matter was organic, raw, and rooted in pain, which was birthed from his actual experience. He was going back into music as a changed man, no longer the young boy desperately wanting to be a star, but rather a man seeking to inspire a generation by telling his story through song. In one last attempt to display the inward change that has taken place, Frankee decided to cut his signature, waist length dreadlocks, he’d be sporting since his early teenage years. A new man with a new look, a new energy and a fresh outlook on life, Frankee Razor is ready to fully enter music again. Equipped with new confidence, clear direction, and a story to tell, he is ready to release his much anticipated new project, “Frankee Razor: Breakup in Paradise” with lead single “Never Doing This Again”. Currently he is on a promotional tour to reintroduce himself to the entertainment world, singing songs from his new album, telling the beautiful, as well as the ugly, truth about his journey. A journey that will prove relatable, powerful, and inspirational to the billions who will soon discover Frankee Razor, and be touched by his message of perseverance through all adversities, as the key to true fulfillment.
