Imagine a room with no windows. The colored lights are flashing, sweat is pouring down your face and dripping from your nose and lips. There’s barely room to move, bodies are touching and throbbing to the music. Your eyes are closed and your hands are up as you sway back and forth. You are free. You are alive…oh yeah and you’re probably listening to Liptease. Two blokes were at a party one night. The party was lame, sterile music was playing in the background and the booze seemed to have too much of a calming effect on the environment. Another, folky/hipster get together where being “chill” was expected and excitement was just too abstract to comprehend. Luckily, the gods of electro-pop had mercy on this lame ass party. They chose this night to assign two unsuspecting (but sexy) bros to bear a burden that few had the strength to endure. Liptease was born May 16th, 2009. What a beautiful baby. The Fathers (Michel Heyaca & John Engle) had been in a previous band together. Like most bands, this one had a short life span due to insufficient musician nutrition. This was not the end however, because Michel (being from France) had a backup plan. He pulled out an electronic instrumental track and asked John to “bust a nut” (lyrically speaking) all over it. John, who’s been around (geographically speaking), tapped into his circumcised subconscious and “Cupid” was created. Later, after hours of lying around, talking about feelings, and drinking, the Liptease EP was finished. Now touring has commenced and destiny is unfolding right before your LIPS.
