简介
Buoc Ke Tiep, Ho Bich Ngoc’s second and award-winning album released in 2009 and produced in collaboration with composer Thanh Tam is a wonderful mix of pop, jazz, R&B and even trance beats that comes across as a "candy for the ear" as VisualGui described it. Expressing modernism in a time when Vietnam’s music scene was still in strong traditions, Ngoc’s music, style and appearance definitely stirred up the music biz, even the visual aspects of the album asking for more liberalism in the ex-communist country. The album features the song ‘Mot Ngay Moi’ – which translates as ‘A New Day’ – impressing with a beautiful blend of jazz and R&B rhymes and which was celebrated as the Pop Song of The Year 2009 winning several awards at the Vietnam Song Event. The range of songs from ‘Van Mong Duoc Ben Anh, a lovely ballade accompanied by a soft and very natural voice, to the remix of ‘Co Khi Nao’ with intriguing trance beats, underpins the talent of Ho Bich Ngoc and unravels her unique voice that drives the beat through the entire album. Not surprisingly and as with her first record, Ngoc received a lot of attention and compliments for an album that is being translated as "The Next Step". It was indeed a big next step in the career of Ho Bich Ngoc and Buoc Ke Tiep is an album that beats and grooves as of today.
