This record is of historic klezmer and social music from pre-war Jewish Poland. FleytMuzik represents an ensemble that carries on an earlier tradition of klezmer that featured flute and piccolo with strings rather than clarinet or brass. We also feature National Heritage scholar and musician, Michael Alpert who gives us special rhyming badkones for our wedding "set." Each piece, each track, provides a fresh look at history, with tunes that are at once lively and soulful. No other ensemble exists that performs this music and performs with historical intent.
