These songs were inspired over the last few years in various ways. Some were sparking by sermons. A couple by flipping thru my Nana's Broadman hymnal and finding golden lyrics that needed to be redone. It's pretty cool to merge a 250 year old Charles Wesley lyric with some new Ray Charles vibe. The instrumental Hymn for David was written as I tried to write a tribute in memory of David Smith was lost a battle to cancer many years ago. He introduced me to country music. I'm a keyboard guy, but I have enjoyed hearing these songs with some killer guitar work from my new friend/producer Lucio Rubino. He was almost the only musician I needed on the album thanks to his vast musicianship. Kenny Hamilton's fine sax skills shine. Jaime Largaespada added the awesome female element. Micah Gillian came in for some final incredible guitar and mando licks that really completed the project.
