Home... a place we sek to find shelter... a place we find warmth--protection from winds, rain, snow, and sleet. Home is a place we seek to find safety...refuge from our problems, struggles and trials. Home is a place where we belong... a place we've chosen to be. Home is a place where we can rest and find solace. Home is a place where we can be ourselves--we can express our emotions... we can be transparent, we can be playful, serious, happy, even sad at times. A home is a place where we take the first steps to achieve our dreams and determine our future...a place where we can dream for a better tomorrow. A home is a place where we desire to go--an ultimate destination... a place of hope, peace and eternal life. The arrangements and compositions on this recording were inspired through my reflections on what "home" means to me. As a child, "home" referred to a small farm town in northern Iowa. Five years ago, when Diane and I were married, we established our new "home" together. Since that time, two beautiful children have joined our "home" and my understanding of "home" continues to evolve. Three years ago, my father, who along with my mother made my home in Iowa so special, passed away and moved to his next "home"--the eternal home that as a believer is our ultimate hope and desire. I dedicate this recording and all the music in it to all those who have made my life special and all of my thoughts of home past, present, future, and eternal so wonderful.
