简介

William James Hamill III was born on August 7, 1976 in the Rock 'n Roll mecca of (what is to him at least) the greatest city in the world, Detroit, Michigan. Coming from someone who has seen a lot of the world, that has to mean something. Finding Motley Crue's "Theater of Pain" at the age of nine in 1985, Hamill's yet to look back. Starting his first band in seventh grade at the age of twelve,( to this day Hamill frequently performs with Jason Hackstock of Halfway II, who was there in the beginning) Hamill honed his craft throughout middle and high school, performing at mostly house party's for hopefully a free couple of beers (that's not when they had to sneak in their own, mind you). Playing the songs of the time by bands and influences such as Poison, Motley Crue, Warrant,Skid Row, Ugly Kid Joe, Metallica, Pantera, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Alice in Chains, along with their own originals (which, happy to say, they will be being re-recording for a future Halfway II release). h After school ended, for all intents and purposes, the band sadly ended as well. It's during this time, that Hamill says he made the wisest decission he could've made for that time. Hamill ended up buying an 8 track recorder. It's during this time that he really honed his craft as a guitar player/song writer/producer. The majority of the songs you'll hear on "Everything to Me" were written in this time period (Hamill made sure they were the cream of the crop amongst the literally hundreds of songs recorded). It was during this period , that almost as happenstance, Hamill ran into a friend's younger brother who was searching for a bass player. Not a bass player by trade, Hamill told him he'd come check out their next recording session. Respecting Hamill's feedback on their already written songs, it was while Hamill, jamming on the bass with them, once again, almost through happenstance, inadvertently wrote the hook for what would their signature song. Ultimately, the band lasted no longer than six months. But as Hamill has been known to say "those kids lit a fire under my a**, brah". And they did, for, Hamil hasn't been without a gig since. The stories of Halfway II and Detroit Perfect are best saved for another day (and believe me there are many, hell, we didn't even begin to scratch the service with the other two bands). "Everything to Me" is the brainchild of one William James Hamill III (or as he is better known; Halfway Hamill). As the lead singer /guitar player/producer/ songwriter of the last decade for the straight out of East Detroit party band Halway II. This is Hamill's debut solo project (although you can find appearances from Halfway's own Jason Keith and sometime Halfway guitar player and bassist for Hamill's other band, the punk rock Detroit Perfect; Eric Bachman. Also appearing is sometime Halfway drummer and producer extraordinaire Santo Ludy (Ludy in fact produced the final two cuts of the album). You can find Keith, Bachman, and Ludy on the final two tracks of the record.) This album was truly a labor of love, though a very emotional one at that. I wouldn't go as so far to say that this is a concept album, it's more of a diary. Taking you through the ages 18 to 30, Hamill explores the ups and downs of love lost (Everything to Me), his trials with substance abuse (Just as Good as Dead), and the empathy as an outsider looking in at child abuse (Daddy's Eyes). Bill "Halfway" Hamill is a 20 year veteran of the Metro Detroit music scene, he is the lead singer/guitarist for acoustic party band Halfway II, the lead singer/guitarist for punk band Detroit Perfect, one half of the comedic/rap outfit MC Sampler 'n The Halfway House (being The Halfway House, natch), a stand-up comedian, and you can find his thoughts on, music, comedy, and life in general as a featured writer for Disruptor313. Hamill would like to especially thank the other haf of Halfway II, his musical soul mate, partner in crime, and most importantly his closest friend; Jason Hacksock. Special thanks to Halfway bongo player extrordinair Dave "Messy" Meserschidt, the nicest guy whom it's my pleasure in knowing Jason Keith (be on the look out for the first true Halfway II record shortly). Big props up to MC Sampler, Also much love to Shonny, ChZck , Andi, and Bach. Santo Ludy for caring about the music and showing what a true producer is capable of. The Ludy family, The Keith family, All of my love to Tommy , Becca, and Makayla, Thanks to the Fisk family, the Cronin family, the McCarville family, the Berg family, the Randazzo family, Vannesa, Melody, and Julie, the Gordon-Lylte family, Marcia, Lamar, Tom, and MiMi, the Sasek family, Jen and Lynns, Joe Ventimilia, DJ Jason Warwick, Juanita and Benny,Scud, "Mentor" Andy Gagnon, Krissy Rincon, Sarah Hebert, Paulie Brady and Fester from Edgewise, Nick and Scott of Lazerface, Matt, Mike, Ashton and "High" Noon for lighting a much needed fire under my a**, old school fans Chris,Sue, Craig, Mike, Lisa, Erica, and Emily, John Hansen (RIP), Aaron Malone (RIP), My brother Jason Cronin (RIP), Maria Wade, Chris St. Onge, Chris White,Scott Legotto, Ray and Lisa Sherwood at Sherwood Brewery, Neal, Rox, and Tracey at Boney's, Tess at Waterfalls, Sherry and Gary at Midway, Shaun McKinney, O'Mara's, Roni Salami, Lee, Alice, Sadie, Sherlock, and Oliver.
