简介
Groovy Samba — a samba with some State Street soul. I'd never heard it before I stumbled upon the sheet music. I liked the title, then I heard the tune . . . Afro Blue — Asking the musical question: how much could I do in a solo guitar arrangement of this 'jam' song? El Golpe de Amor, roughly translated, means “when love whups you upside the head.” This melody comes from a theatrical production, El Paso Blue, written by Octavio Solis, and staged by Teatro Vista. We won a Best Music Joseph Jefferson award (Chicago's equivalent of the Tony) for the show. Driving Song — Movin' and groovin' on four wheels in five speeds; driving away to cool exit music. Gospel — Somebody say “Amen!” Old-school gospel groove. I’m Looking Thru You — A Beatles favorite: hot picking where Nashville meets Liverpool, with a nod to Steve Earle’s rendition. Summertime — Big bass from a Brune guitar! After playing Gershwin's hit song since high school, I thought it was time to lay one down. Gentle Summer Rain — Two of my favorite rain songs combined: Gentle Rain and Summer Rain. Danza Mora — a traditional Flamenco standard with deep middle-eastern influences. I’ll Be Home — from the documentary film Freeing Bernie Baran. After more than 20 years of wrongful incarceration, this underscores the moment when Bernie finally walks out the prison gate into the waiting arms of his mother. Santos (for Lynn) — a tango con passion, a reflection of two magical days on tour in Brazil.
