After a few months off the scene with two successful releases down, one of the deepest underground labels in South Africa finally returns with another addition to their signature ADH (African Deep House) concept. This time the roots go deeper with the one of the enigmatic label bosses - Fred Buddah. Debuting almost a year ago on a various release right here on RGD, he is already being hailed for being uncompromisingly deep & slightly abstract with his craftsmanship. The young master finally puts out with his long-awaited debut offering. Four unique tracks embedded with Fred's dark cosmic depth & melancholic texture, perfect for the ardent collector. The four-tracker begins with the ponderous Coffee & Butterflies: Drifting over a somber synth, the melancholic structure grows into something foreboding as hi-hats & other percussion permeate through the ambient smoky ether. Nova keeps the darkness but detours into more underground floor-friendly territory. A deep bass line carries the sonic structure as cosmic elements fill up the tensioned space around it. Tales of the Moon is more of an exploratory affair. The structure quickly reveals hard percussion with an old-school edge diced into a warm earthy vibe that unravels gracefully till the end. The EP closes off with Solaris: A brooding downtempo workout drenched in the themed cosmic tides of the EP but sounding as if it's coming from a dark grimy basement with bubble-like keys that hover all around the atmosphere.
