简介
Michi Regier plays violin or fiddle...depending on what she's wearing. Her classical violin training started at home at age 2. She has performed with numerous orchestras; the short list includes a youth orchestra that performed at Carnegie Hall in 1992, the Mesa Symphony Orchestra, and the ASU Chamber Orchestra. While studying the classics, she was also learning how to entertain a crowd. She has been performing fiddle music at folk and renaissance festivals since 1990. In 1997 she co-founded a Celtic band, The Bringers, that has enjoyed success in Arizona and Colorado. By herself, Michi has performed in America, England, Ireland, Ukraine, and Japan. These days Michi is performing "Tales from the Fiddle Tree," her original music and stories about Ukraine, and planning CD release parties! The Corpus Christi Caller-Times said of Michi in 2003, "not all classically trained violinists bunker down in concert halls." This one combines the energetic delivery of folk music with the perfection and flair of the classics. Michi says: "I want you to see what's hidden in my violin"... Others find: "I just heard your instrument screaming for mercy!" "Usually, it takes me a couple of listens before I warm up to something but this little piece of yours warmed my slavic soul." "You don't get a whole lot of Gypsy bluegrass celtic classical-style fiddlers anymore...Michi's more fun than a watermelon...Seriously. I wanted about four more hours of it."
