FED UP! - SHEER POETRY RECORD REVIEW IN EMPTY HANDS ZINE A new Fed Up! these dudes have been rumbling around nyc for a few years, boasting a rejuvenated oi-core sound. I have liked the 7"s and ep's and comp appearances. But this record is much more solid. this sh*t is d**e. Package design, songwriting, production quality, mixing and lyrics - all have improved their game. This is NYHC with a healthy dose of oi. This is true blend of a heavier Murphy's Law, '85 AF, Warzone, a dash of YDL, with and little Uppercut, even a nice Downlow feel. Heavy, low guitars with a hip-hop bounce from the bass and shouted (but not growled) vocals help deliver a consistent punch. a backbone of tight drums, that roll into sweet bursts propagate cool breakdowns and finger pointing moments, really hold the energy in these songs. The bass definitely stands out in a true nyhc fashion, adding the perfect pluck to the time changes. You will not be able to still during these finely crafted tunes. There is a real feeling of the live show in this proper recording. This is HIGHLY recommended to fans of old-school street-core that enjoy any of the mentioned bands. This is Fed up at their peak. Hope they continue on. For fans of - NYHC, vulture rock a la Boot Party & Combat Ready, Stars and Stripes, early Cold as Life, and Blitz. Perkoro Recs Review FED UP! - Sheer Poetry (2010/WELFARE/UNITED) NYC hardcore mainstays FED UP return with 12 songs of simple, straightforward, street-wise hardcore in the vein of their earlier releases. A fine dose of Boston with hints from SLAPSHOT to NEGATIVE APPROACH, early NYC acts like AGNOSTIC FRONT and MURPHYS LAW and of course a hint of UK classics like BLITZ or ONE WAY SYSTEM. "Sheer Poetry" is highly recommended to fans of old-styled hardcore that enjoy any of the mentioned above bands. No Te Calles Fanzine FED UP! - "Sheer Poetry" CD NY Hardcore in this killer new cd from Fed Up! Are 12 tracks from old school hardcore in the vein from Youth of Today,Sick of it All,Madball. Powerful vocals, violent riffs, drunken bass and drums of battle. Total mosh pit with this new stuff from Fed Up! SKRUTT ZINE FED UP! - SHEER POETRY This group becomes better and better for every record they´re doing. With a forceful singer that pushes the music to the max and that´s a must for a hardcore group to have a singer which sounds like this….Fed Up! doesn't follow the trends and it suits them to have it this way. They sounds like as a classic hardcore band and that´s something good I think. They have taken the best from groups like Minor Threat, Agnostic Front and that type of bands and made their own style of HC-music. It´s really nice with angry groups because then I feel very calm for the future when there´s band like this around. PURE IMPACT REVIEW FED UP! - SHEER POETRY This is NYHC with a healthy dose of Oi!, a true blend of a heavier Murphy's Law, old Agnostic Front, Warzone with a little Uppercut feel. Heavy, low guitars with a pounding bass and shouted (but not growled) vocals help deliver a consistent punch. A backbone of tight drums, that roll into sweet bursts propagate cool breakdowns and fist-throwing moments, really holding the energy in these songs. The bass definitely stands out in a true NYHC fashion, adding the perfect pluck to the time changes. This is highly recommended to fans of old-school streetcore or skinhead hardcore that enjoy any of the mentioned bands. This is Fed Up at their peak. FED UP! - SHEER POETRY REVIEW IN BIG WHEEL MEDIA ZINE. New York's Fed Up! have been playing for probably around ten years if not more. I remember a friend passing me along a CD of theirs back in 2001 or so. Anyway this is some proper Skinhead Hardcore from the city that more or less created the phenomenon. It's faster than Youth Defense League, not as fast as early Agnostic Front. There's definitely some strong Oi! influences and people who are more into the American Oi! stuff from bands like Oxblood would definitely find something to like in Fed Up! beyond just their image. There's some short flirtations with Cro- Mags style mosh parts, but I wouldn't say this band is otherwise particularly heavy sounding. Some of the lyrics are on the patriotic side of things which is fine. It's actually kind of cool to see that this band is still around and making records that are a cut above most of what is going around these days. Fed Up! - Sheer Poetry (United Riot) Review in Brutal zine New Yorkers Fed Up! offer up twelve new slabs of ol' school NYHC. No metal. No solos. No long hair posturing. This is real hardcore from the streets. Twelve tracks of NYHC with a strong punk/Oi! influence. If you dig Agnostic Front, Warzone, Rest In Pieces,...you will eat this up. This is fast, unapologetic and in your face. Crucial tracks: "F**k Your Life", "Band of Brothers", and "Hipster F**k". FED UP! - SHEER POETRY Review in Ox Fanzine New York City Hardcore - this is the real sh*t! Skinheads beware! If your into WARZONE, early Agnostic Front, early DRI and MURPHY'S LAW? Then put on its boots and get down into the pit. FED UP with singer Dennis can be found right there. Every time I'm in NYC where hc runs me over at every end. At gigs, in bars and on the road. This is the way hardcore must sound. Short and right on the mouth. But direct and honest! I rarely have as much "f**k" and "Shut Up" belongs to a disk, as with FED UP's "Sheer Poetry." The four Americans fight each other by twelve songs in just under 20 minutes. And that's too short, it makes me mad. At the third hearing, the board begins to unfold their effect on me, and teleport me back 20 years. Moshing trembling and I jump around the living room and listen to make it loud! The neighbors want to have something like this. Hardcore from NYC is evil cometh from the street and often ends up with bloody noses and busting lips - I love doing that.
