Reverb drenched synth and a pulsing bass tone play the background for hypnotic rhythms, which bang subtly through the duration of the track, seductively luring the listener into an exquisitely sculpted world of deep, dubby House music. Breathy vocal samples from Brenda D. are masterfully layered throughout, popping up often and keeping things interesting. Deep, tribal beats set the mood off proper, while vocals from Brenda D. repeat "When The Rhythm Hits" over and over, practically taunting the listener, virtually telling them-- "How much do you want to bet that you cannot resist dancing to this"-- a bet that the listener has no chance of winning once the bassline kicks in. 'Deeper Underground' keeps a steady build up, pushing the mood that we heard right from the start. Just when you thought you heard everything that this track has to offer, lush chords get thrown into the mix changing the mood up to a late night Deep House stomper. BTMG feat Brenda D "Time Away" Remix by: Erik "Renan" Cevallos SFR006 -C Renan's remix of "Time Away" floats somewhere in the area between fun electro house and dubby techno. Glitchy percussion sounds echo through out the track, while heavily processed vocals by Brenda D. are used effectively over a melodic bassline. Gentle, moody chords create a cinematic atmosphere and a perfect contrast to a bouncy acid-line which bubbles beneath the surface. Renan's remix takes a more experimental approach to dance music, but doesn't take itself too seriously, managing to maintain a playful mood throughout and avoiding the pretensions that typically go along with experimentation.
