The idea for this album project grew out of having played a couple of duets in their church's Christmas Eve service back in 1996. "The place erupted in applause - we had no idea people would enjoy them so much!", reflects Markin. The following year, Martin and Johnny entered Lincoln's dB Studios to record simple, but creative arrangements that they could take on the road each Christmas season. For three years, until Markin's departure back to his homeland of Canada, they brought their musical inspiration to churches and cafes around the UK. Released originally only on cassette, this re-release still retains the airiness and intimacy that was the hallmark of their performances. Although separated by an ocean and a continent Johnny and Martin are still joined in music as journeymen-musicians. Johnny is Pastor of Worship Ministries at Northview Community Church, Abbotsford, BC and Martin, based in Lincoln, UK, tours with the likes of Mark Tedder and Andy Bromley as well as pursuing a career as a writer.
