Lantz has been an aspiring music producer, and musician who decided to complete his own music project after years of seeking a record, and or production deal. His soon to be released album "Mouthpeace" has been years in the making as well. He completed his first CD on his own and in it's entirety. He majority financed, wrote, produced, performed, arranged, mixed, mastered, promoted on Facebook, as well as having done the photography, and scene locations for the cover. Lantz has been a performer, dancer, and musician since the age of 8. He used to dance (Pop Lock) with his friends on street corners on Kansas City Missouri's east side, and later in local talent shows and skating rinks. As he grew older he taught himself how to play several instruments with keyboards being his favorite. After deciding to go to college at Central Missouri State University to study Broadcasting, Marketing, Business, and Film, he set up a studio in his dorm room where he produced aspiring artists from Kansas City, St. Louis, and other surrounding cities and states. He was recruited by CBS television after being asked to perform his own original music on local television that was broadcasted to a tri state area He later moved to Los Angeles, California when he 20 years old to pursue his dream in music as a producer and artist. The recruitment to CBS didn't work out as planned, and ended up taking several jobs as a Bus Boy, Hotel Shuttle Driver, and Limo Driver. After three years he landed a Production Assistant job with super producer Quincy Jones. " I just soaked up everything musically and creatively I could from Mr. Jones, and I learned SO MUCH about media.." Lantz said. I don't read music to this very day, but watching Mr. Jones in the studio during the production of Jones CD "Juke Joint" unlocked the potential that I knew I always had.. everything just clicked for me about song structure. It was the most AMAZING thing I've ever experienced, and I'll never forget it as long as I live. Not to mention that Jones and his family were extremely nice, and very down to earth." After four years of working for Quincy Jones Entertainment, Lantz decided to move back to Kansas City, Missouri to spend time with, and assist family members who became ill at one point or another. In between jobs and a weak economy.. Lantz kept financing, writing, recording, and producing his music, and later assisted his father during his declining health over the years and recent death in October 2013. Lantz said "The bottom line is I achieved an extremely big and personal goal I set years ago, hung onto it like a Pit Bull, and despite the passing away of dear relatives and friends, and or ridicule over the years from people who said I couldn't do it.. I DID IT. This is for you dad, and I'd like to thank my mother Gwendolyn Strawn and my sister Lisa for their continued support and love.
