Here's one to get the joy circuits going -- 35 minutes of bent surf music, a tilted approach to the beach, boards and braindeath genre that manages to mix in some cheerful pseudo-psychedelia from time to time. The Mermen, a three piece given to odd noises, filter their whammy-bar madness through a layer of grunge for best effect on the guitar side of things, and wrap things up in the finish with a piece of floating psychedelia called "I of the Moo," but it's at heart the right stuff: surf music with a rollicking beat and merry approach.
