In September 2015 Jo beat hundreds of hopefuls to become the winner of Reggae Star Factor Season 2, held at London’s prestigious Shaw Theatre. She is a UK singer/songwriter, whose father, entrepreneur Levi Roots, was a member of the Coxsone Sound System, and so her passion for music was instilled at an early age. Jo Caesar gained recognition on the music circuit, having worked with a variety of musicians and artists that include Luciano, Bounty Killer, Gappy Ranks, Don E and Caron Wheeler, who can be heard on Jo’s first single ‘Sometimes’ as a guest artist. This was released on Jo’s own ‘Sound Box Music’ label. Jo was lead vocalist of a girl group, managed by RonTom, founder of ‘Sugabages’. She has co-written with Maxwell D and Brat Kid on Musketeer Recordings label, but found her voice in reggae while working on a solo project with JetStar Record label. She is frequently featured on the label’s ‘Pop Hits Inna Reggae’ compilation albums. Her unique sound effortless delivery of this single ‘Coming On Strong’ took her through to the Finals and earned her a management and recording deal. Jo’s album is due for release in 2016.
