The Deacons are proud to be referred to as old-school funk and soul. They've been performing in the Akron-Canton-Cleveland Ohio area for at least as long as the Cleveland Browns have been trying to find a quarterback. Sunday afternoons spent rehearsing music and repeatedly cursing the Browns have turned out to be time well spent for the members of The Deacons. They love to groove their "Akron" sound.
