Jazz represents freedom. With freedom in mind, you could do whatever you want. I always had the great need to listen all kinds of music, with no boundaries of genre. Versatility probably is the more appropriate term. Once you could identify what kind of groove and motif really touches your heart, it became possible to share this feeling with other people. When I'm working on a new idea, that becomes an arrangement at the end of the day, this arrangement had to put a smile on my face, and literally has to feel good. Usually that happens when I got a spontaneous fine groove. It is not only about the chord progression, and the complexity of the composition, it is all about movement. Good movement has to have that instantaneous "click" that tells you that the song is good. Genuine grounds clue the right vibe.
