STEPHEN ROBERTSON - bass BRAD MCCOY - drums ERIC SCHILT - vocals, acoustic guitar DEREK MCCOY - electric guitar The alternative rock band from Loma Linda, CA started late in 2002 when Eric, new to song writing, hesitantly brought some of his ideas to Brad and Derek, whom had previously been in a cover band together. Soon thereafter, the three band members began to record the half written songs and found themselves with a new sound they all felt was promising. Early on they determined that their main goal would not be to go after a record deal, but rather to stay completely self contained in their writing, recording, designing, and business dealings. They felt this would give them the musical freedom needed and long term success in a changing and unstable music industry. Despite the band's early success in recording and writing, they found themselves severely limited in the their ability to play live shows due to their lack of a bass player. After quite some time of sifting through bass players who didn't work for one reason or another, Brad asked Steve Robertson, a local producer, who had spent some time mastering some early tracks for The Same, to sit in with the band for a practice. Brad, Derek, and Eric, were immediately impressed. In addition, Steve was impressed with them and he became the fourth band member. The Same recruited Justin, a jazz pianist and college buddy of Brad's and the band was complete, at least in terms of its members. The band's path is not nearly complete however. They have a long promising future and will fervently continue to pursue their dreams, even if it means: Derek continuing his fetish for cards, Brad hoarding sound gear, Steve doing whatever the hell Steve does [email us if you know], and Eric and Derek keeping up their odd superstitions, such as the compulsive need to have a bowl of cereal after every gig. Currently, the band continues to grow musically as well as popularly. They have recieved positive feedback from numerous successful producers and others in the music industry including Kipper, of Sting.
