简介
Katie's 6th CD, Hush hush.... sees Katie's star continuing to rise and mature as she contemporises the Celtic harp around the world. Recorded and produced in the vaulted ceilings of a Provencal inn from the 17th century, French producer, Herve Le Guil, used precision and skill to record the natural haunting and beautiful sounds of Katie's harp and voice rather than in a record studio. Each of the songs are just 1 take (rather than the now popular manufactured way of piecing a song together from 4 or 5 takes) allowing the true authenticity and purity of feeling and sound to be conveyed to the listener. Katie Targett-Adams 'Global stardom for a plucky musician’ The Sunday Times ‘That girl’s Scot talent...her star has continued to rise’. China Daily ‘One of Scotland’s most talented musicians’ BBC ‘Katie Targett-Adams is changing the harp’s image’ The Herald ‘…stunning success (Katie) is finally getting the recognition she deserves for her own brand of harp playing’ Daily Record ‘Katie is a growing celebrity…one of the best players of the Celtic harp in the country’ Scotland on Sunday Biography Katie's musical performance is a blend of her angelic voice with the small folk harp (clarsach) showcasing songs not only from her own Celtic homeland but also from many other different cultures and musical genres. A Princes’ Trust Ambassador, Katie performed in Scotland at the Opening of Scottish Parliament in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen, for JK Rowling at the launch of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince at Edinburgh Castle and aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia. In 2009 Katie wrote and recorded a charity song called Day by Day, 《新的未来》 in English and Mandarin to raise money and awareness for the Sichuan earthquake survivors one year on. Sponsored by Heng An Standard Life, Day by Day was launched at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Beijing and then later performed by Katie for schoolchildren at the epicentre of the earthquake in Sichuan where Katie donated over 200 musical instruments and books to the children with the monies raised. The song has gone on to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake in 2010 and continues to be an emblem of positive hope as people gradually rebuild their lives and find happiness again. Katie was awarded Music and Culture Icon for Scotland in 2004 and became winner of the UK Songwriting Contest in 2007.
