简介
Peyote Music is happy to announce that the Soundtrack of the 2006 Özer Kızıltan movie Takva is finally being released. Produced by Replikas vocalist/guitarist Gökçe Akçelik, had won the prize for ‘Best Soundtrack’ in 43th Antalya Altın Portakal Film Festival in 2006, alongside other prizes from various other festivals. After it was decided in 2012 that the soundtrack was going to be released as an album, Akçelik reviewed the music, put them together with dialogs from the movie and mixed the whole album again. The mastering was made by another Replikas member, Burak Tamer in 2012 February at İstanbul Technical University’s MIAM studios. Alongside ‘rhythm’, Zikir’s most important element, ‘repetition’ is the starting and focal point of Takva’s soundtrack. Akçelik realized the music, by bringing together traditional Tekke instruments as ‘bendir’ and ‘def’ with human voice and ritual recordings and weaved these with electronic sounds in a digital medium. Taking ‘rhythm’, the important common element in both Zikir and electronic music, as the main supply; Akçelik has deconstructed these recorded material in the digital medium and constructed them again, reflecting the cold, hypnotised states of mind of the movie, in an as monotonous atmosphere. Traditional Tekke music approach is transformed into a different structures after being fragmented and brought together in Akçelik’s hands, in parallel to the movie’s protagonist Muharrem’s small and closed inner world’s chaotic and schizophrenic state.
