Includes David Owens' world famous NAMA Lesnoto Medley, used, often as a final dance, by folk dancers in many places; an U šest (kolo) with frulas; a Syrto with clarinet solo; a Pravo horo on village (bitov) instruments; Eleno mome and Bavno oro with singing; Jove malaj mome with gajda, kaval, tŭpan, and singing; Bučimiš at a slower speed than the Tammies' recording (and slower than on NAMA 2); a swingy version of Salty Dog Rag, with nostalgic 3-part harmony, fiddle, guitar, and tack piano solos (and not as fast as on NAMA 2); two famous Israeli dances, and several Yiddish songs and klezmer tunes, including a soulful doină with improvisation & freylekhs, on clarinet, cymbalom & bass; the Yiddish theater song that became a “Mexican” samba (!); the original correct Yiddish words to Dona Dona; the original Portuguese words (and the patter-song-speed English) for Tico tico; and Loretta Kelley on the flying fast fiddle in Orange Blossom Special! 21 different musicians and singers participated in this CD.
