This CD, PIECE OF ME, is over four years in composing and represents a departure from John’s two, CD series of Times’ Bridge (the “political” songs) and Johnny Lila (the “non-political” songs), which are available here on CD Baby. PIECE OF ME has 19 tracks - 16 songs, only two of which are “toughly” political, and three instrumentals. PIECE OF ME mixes images of love and tenderness, splinterin’ ties, a candyman who knew John’s dreams, photos from a sweeter time, picture frames, a breeze-blown candle flame, love lifting you up taking you to your knees, a heaven-bound train, danglin’ feet and smokestack ears, a young girl dressed in sapphron pink whose dark eyes to the camera do not blink, the punchline in this cosmic joke, a fireplace amber glow, late-night popcorn picture shows, Monsoon Cindy, Ali’s Arms, Wednesday afternoons and many other images that give shape to this CD. John is 65 and lives in Fairfield, IA where he spends many hours every day performing Yogic Flying in the “Golden Domes of Maharishi University of Management,” as one of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s world peace warriors.
