Song list "Mixed Messages" zzi122112 March 3, 2013 A very videocentric record. Many of the tracks were either made into music vids or repurposed for other videos this year and last. The styles and genres do vary (Messages are indeed quite Mixed), so there's something for everyone to love. Or something. I am deeply grateful to the fine players who appeared on these recordings. Do look up their regular stuff. Bob Rice is the drummer for Spanky and the Love Handles. Sidney Cox plays with various bands in Atlanta. Bart Ramsey's gypsy jazz combo Zazou City can be seen regularly around New Orleans. Gina Forsyth is a brilliant songwriter and player who can be heard just about everywhere, but nearly every Sunday at Tipitina's with Bruce Daigrepont. D Robert is a fine writer and player known for his eclectic work in the 1980s and beyond. Paul Longstreth is among the cream of New Orleans piano players. George 'Keys' Izquierdo has been writing, playing and producing in New Orleans for nigh on forty years. As always, most profound gratitude to Chris Finney for invaluable advice on mix choices.
