The 9th release of Dirty Bass Records is here and things have taken a brutal turn. There are 4 face smashing, floor devastating tracks on offer here, starting with Cavern of Lost Souls, A tough but beautifully melodic peak set monster with solid rocking bass and haunting leads, uplifting and tender this continues the Dirty Bass trend of big room floor fillers. After that we have the track A Brutal Beating, which is a punishing workout with a huge booming kick, industrial ambience and machinery and a nasty breakdown that truly contains a brutal beating. The tune fires out of the break with a screaming laser lead making this track a sure fire crowd smasher. King Asmodeus is a dark and tough groover that moves through sparse electronic-ambient desert landscapes, breaking to a disembodied voice before smashing back into the second half with a cruel bassline and twisted metal cries. The final track, Nuke the site from orbit, is another crushing pounder with hypnotic analog synths, a truly twisted up breakdown, and a addictive hook adding funk in the second half.

Overall a tough but accessable ep of modern techno proving the wide range of sounds Dirty Bass can call on.
