简介
John White started in the legendary 80's Sheffield scene. After his first band "The I Scream Brothers" split up he continued solo and called his "one-man-plus-revox" project "UV POP". Later other members joined. Early concerts included supports with In The Nursery, Danse Society, Pulp or Nico and his first single was recorded and produced by Cabaret Voltaire. Songs like "Sleep Don't Talk", "No Songs Tomorrow "or "Serious" have been club hits in Europe and USA ever since. Now more than 30 years later the UV POP backcatalogue includes a broad work from bold industrial/synth anthems to beautiful indie guitar songs or acoustic ballads with the always remarkable voice of John White. This release includes the fabled "Anyone For Me" EP (1985) and "Bendy Baby Man" LP (1986) plus two bonus tracks. Classic UK indie/wave and postpunk, all truely exceptional songs from dreary times in England.
