For the past thirty-five years his bass has been the pulse, heartbeat and the foundational layer on well over forty CDs, albums, & recordings. He and business partner Zarouhi, have set out on a mission to present documented performances such as this CD project for the world to enjoy. Many more to follow! Zarouhi: Armenian, American born, is named after her great-grandmother. Zarouhi is a performer, instructor and promoter of Raqs Sharqi on the east and west coasts for over 30 years. Her elegant and dynamic dance style is attributed to her many travels as well as studies with great masters of the dance. Her Zil performances embellish tracks 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5. Zarouhi wishes to thank all the musicians on this CD for their musical devotion, without which her soul could not dance, and to Chris, who took her ideas to heart and created this CD for all to enjoy. Hafez El Ali: Venezuelan born of Syrian parentage. Hafez’s intricate drum fills and solos spark the excitement needed to fuel any Bellydancers’s performance on these tracks. Hamit Golbasi: Born in Turkey, Hamit`s Ney, Zurna and Saz, add the perfect spice to this project, giving it the perfect flavor. Haig Manoukian: Armenian, American born. Haig’s Oud expresses the depth of his musicality through his phraseology in each of his solos. Artemis Mourat: American born and living in the DC area, Artemis expresses her articulate passion for the 9/8 rhythm through her Zil performances on Tracks 6 and 7. Vasilis Patrikis: Greek born and now living in NY area. With his Violin solo, Vasilis adds a contrasting complement on Track 6. Tamer Pinarbasi: Turkish born Tamer, uses the Kanoun to very clearly add his stylistic and melodic foundation throughout each of his exciting performances on these audio tracks. Salah Rhanny: Moroccan born, now living in the NY area. Salah, adds his tremendous depth of sensitivity, as expressed through his solos on each of his performances here. Elias Sarkar: Born in Bethlehem, now living in NJ. Elias is a dynamic performer who adds his soulful, stylistic chants and vocals as the perfect addition to this CD.
