Ksytles has been a poet for over 15 years her influences are Prince, Miles Davis, James Brown, Creed, Deitrick Haddon, Thomas Whitfield and Carlos Santana. Kstyles has a host of musicians in her family and her father was instrumental in influencing her writing and musical talent, he exposed her to all genres of music there was no discrimination of music in her household. She was inspired to release her book of poetry entitled "Potpourri For The Mind" in November of 2007 and wanted to stay with the concept of "potpourri" and entitled her CD "Potpourri For The Soul". Today, say the word potpourri and what comes to most minds is an image of a mixture of colored wood and plant-chippings or shavings, usually bearing a flowery aroma; but potpourri is much more than that to Kstyles she believes it spans into music as well. She describes her music as potpourri because it will awaken your mind and cause your thoughts to expand like a rubber band, Kstyles wrote, produced and arranged all music on this CD it is guaranteed to challenge you on every level and give you a refreshing take on life!!
