Pianist, Vocalist, Composer and Arranger JOHN FLUKER recently received the 2006 NAR Lifestyle Best New Artist Award for his debut instrumental piano album, THE SOUND OF PEACE, which has held the #1 position on two consecutive national New Age Reporter Top 100 radio airplay charts. THE SOUND OF PEACE is a tribute to John’s late father, Curtis Fluker, and the CD is featured on Music Choice Soundscapes, XM Radio Audio Visions, Sirius Satellite Radio Spa 73 and many others. John garnered technical skill, traditional training and a strong work ethic at the University of Michigan where he received his Bachelor Degree in Music. John has a string of credits backing such R&B notables as Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick , Boyz II Men, Queen Latifah, Jenifer Lewis , Stephanie Mills, Brenda Russell and Oleta Adams. Fluker has worked extensively with legendary singer Gladys Knight over the past decade-and-a-half and for several years served not only as her piano accompanist, but also as her musical director. Some of the highlights of working with Knight include John penning several songs for the her musical “Madame Lilly,” performing at the White House for President Bill and First Lady Hillary Rodham-Clinton, and performing the duet “Did You Know” with Knight on Good Morning America. In addition, Fluker performed on several CDs with Gladys Knight including the GRAMMY Award-winning ONE VOICE recorded by Gladys Knight and the Saints Unified Voices Choir.
