Mark wrote Kiara about his niece, Kiara, who is extremely special to Mark. The song started as a poem that Mark wrote while travelling through Costa Rica in 2015. The poem was so reflective of Mark's connection and bond with Kiara, that Mark became inspired to write the music for "Kiara", and record the song in the Summer of 2015. All instruments except the drums were recorded by Mark. Mark recorded "Kiara" with the extremely talented producer and drummer, Nathan Winter, at the historic and legendary Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco, California. Over the years, Hyde Street Studios has recorded the talented notable acts such as Green Day, Train, Tupac Shakur, Cake, Earth Wind & Fire, Rufus Wainwright, Government Mule, and many more! Mark continues to grow as a multi-instrumentalist writer with diverse musical style. Mark feels deeply privileged to continue telling stories in song, and to use music as his passionate, creative expression.
