I originally wrote this track as a dual guitar driven song, with a lead guitar riff (instead of the synth) being the main hook, and a rhythm guitar playing the piano parts. After a while the guitar riff became the vocal melody for the chorus, and I used my Novation Mininova to try adding some ideas to the song, and that's when I made the synth part used in it now. I changed most of the song from guitar to piano, to get a more cleaner sound, even the solo is a piano recording put through an amplifier.

I've rewritten the music and rewrote the lyrics quite a few times for this track, but the meaning of the lyrics in the end became simply about being possessed and the apocalypse (Evil Dead remake sort of style). Before it had a more political meaning, the loss for words being at the state of the human race- inequality, the rich/ poor gap, greed etc but I was using a lot of "approaching the end" metaphors that I just decided to run with that idea instead! I also don't think I had a strong enough understanding of what I was trying to write about so this version worked out a lot better, and had a much more fitting melody and rhyming scheme which helps too!
