“You Are With Me” is the first recorded music album presented by Summit International School of Ministry in Grantville, PA. Not only is this EP the start of a new approach to the school’s ministry, but is also a fresh sound that you can’t find just anywhere in today’s music industry. Recorded in Summit’s very own Summit Sounds Studio, this 5 track EP approaches the art of songwriting on a very personal level. With each individual song,written by current students, alumni, or staff, you can hear their stories, experiences, and intimate encounters with God communicated through each song. Whether it’s the transparent lyrics, the wide variety of  genres, or the unique production intricacies found on each track, anyone will tell you that “You are With Me” is not your average pop album.    As you listen, you’ll find the fusion of several genres and experimental elements. With fragments of pop, folk, jazz, r&b, and hip-hop, each song gives you something creative and original that will catch your ear and engage your interest.     The music itself isn’t the only thing that makes this EP unique. Summit International School of Ministry is not a music school, but is, in a fact, a school of ministry, and that is exactly what this album is— an act of ministry. Summit’s vision for the album was to use the musical ability of its students to capture the essence of the hearts of their students, and share it with the world as a tool for evangelism, encouragement to fellow believers, valuable experience for the students, and an expression of how God is working in the lives of Summit’s student body. A select few of Summit’s very own singer-songwriters were chosen to present their songs on the Summit EP project. Alongside them were chosen a select few of Summit’s musicians and vocalists. Though most studios would find it unusual, these students were given just two weeks to present, practice, and record each song for the first time in their lives. Living and breathing music 24/7 for two weeks was the reality of this recording process. With the involvement and leadership of producer/engineer Bennett Hughes, co-producers Kaitlin Seaborne and Joey Sommers, and assistant engineer Chris Hathcock, the daily sessions were a success, creating an experience for these artists that was unforgettable, and producing a strong family-like dynamic that is audible in their music. With many live sessions, feeding off of each other’s emotion and skill, there’s no doubt that you can sense the heart and soul of the artists behind the music. From the feel-good, down-to-earth “I Got Love” by Joey Sommers to the inspiring and insightful “Strong” by Demitrious Caceres, you can hear the unity and confidence behind each song as the artists worked together to create a work of art.    All in all, the EP is a beautiful depiction of God’s glory wrapped up in a collection of feel-good tunes that will not only have you singing to yourself, but will have you singing truth. God is with us, He is strong, He is love, He is gracious, and because of this, there is nothing left but to let our hearts sing his praises.
