简介

ABOUT ARLO MAVERICK Arlo Maverick (of Politic Live) is an Edmonton-based hip-hop MC that has celebrated many successes. Some of these accomplishments include three Western Canadian Music Award nominations; critical acclaim from accredited music sites in Canada (Exclaim /Hip Hop Canada / Hero Hill) and the US (Rap Reviews / Pop Matters / Jah Works); showcasing at Canadian Music Week, Breakout West and the Edmonton and Winnipeg Jazz Festivals; and national campus radio chart activity. Arlo Maverick’s sound explores Jazz, Electro, and Soul yet identifies itself as hip-hop. Writing from his personal experiences Arlo Maverick connects with his fans one song at a time. Be it songs about the innocence of falling in love, confronting one’s inner demons, or the struggles of making ends meet, Arlo Maverick’s music is as much about moving his audience physically as it is about moving them emotionally. Stepping away from hip-hop’s tradition of just an MC and a DJ, Arlo Maverick occasionally performs with his live band. With influences like K-Os, The Black Keys and The Roots, Arlo’s live show is a fun, energetic and interactive experience where the audience is freed of their inhibitions and exist in the moment. Arlo Maverick is currently promoting the release of his first solo effort, a concept album entitled, Maybe Tomorrow. A departure from Poli Live’s Hip-Hop, Jazz and Reggae fusion, Maybe Tomorrow’s sound is a mixture of Electro and Trap. ABOUT MAYBE TOMORROW Maybe Tomorrow is the story of an up and coming musician suffering the loss of his grandmother just as his career takes off. With this devastation following on the heels of a breakup from his fiancé, the protagonist begins to spiral out of control seeking solace in his addictions. To save his sanity, he reluctantly takes the advice of his family and friends and begins to see a therapist. Although initially skeptical he begins to discover a lot about himself and his fears in his weekly visits with his therapist. The songs on Maybe Tomorrow represent his sessions.
